Bunker Edges

Over the years the bunker edges have become hard to distinguish on certain holes.  Every couple weeks we edge the bunkers with the line trimmers.  But most of the bunkers here were so bad we had to beak out the shovels and the tractor to remove material off the edges.  Grass has crept into the bunkers, as the sand provides an ideal host for turf. 
The crew put in some hard work this week restoring the bunkers to their previous shape.  In one location we dug out grass over 8 ft to its previous edge.  
It is going to take a little time, but by July we should make our way around the entire course.

Irrigation Improvements

We been busy this spring getting our irrigation system ready for summer.   We've installed over thirty new sprinkler heads around the greens.  Mostly replacing the original impact style to new rotors.  We also targeted some of the areas with the worst coverage, and have been trenching in new pipe and heads.   These improvements will make a dramatic difference this summer.  Next step are the tees...
